Cooperation with the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague

The study program Optics and Nanostructures taught at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague is, among other things, also the study of properties of submicron structures, especially in relation to their optical and optoelectric properties. The Institute of Physics is cooperating with this faculty on the realization of the diploma thesis of the 2nd year student Matěj Hývl's master study concerning the use of various forms of nanostructured silicon in photovoltaics. The aim of this work is a detailed study and description of silicon nanostructures, especially silicon nanowires and grain boundaries in polycrystalline layers, using microscopic methods available at the FZU Cukrovarnická. Particular emphasis is placed on the use of atomic force microscopy to measure the conductivity and local potential of samples.
